Ailed E. García-Saavedra is a graphic designer, multimedia artist and new media educator. In 2005, Ailed received her MFA in Multi-media from San Diego State University in California, and a BS degree in Graphic Design from California State University, Sacramento in 2000.
In the new millennium Ailed launched Lucid WhiteSpace, putting into practice the art of graphic design and web development, where she specializes in educational institutions and non-profit organizations geared at social change. She has exhibited locally and nationally to include the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, California. For the past 3 years, she has been serving as a part-time online lecturer in the New Media Arts program, teaching digital arts, graphic design, web design and internship courses at Kapi’olani Community College, where she formerly taught face-to-face as a full-time instructor for 7 years. Her previous teaching experience also includes teaching art, multi-media, graphic design and typography courses at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa, and San Diego State University in California.
Ailed currently resides in her hometown in California with her husband (a proud former Marine) and 2 of her 5 children.
